Have you already fallen off the new year’s resolution wagon? No need to panic. These next few posts are all about getting those health-conscious resolutions back on track c/o my favourite new (or newish) Toronto health and wellness shops.
First stop — The Detox Market.
Starting out as a pop-up shop in Los Angeles and Toronto, The Detox Market has been serving Torontonians for over two years now. Self-touted as “where Parisian chic meets green California” this wellness boutique prides itself on featuring product lines that are non-toxic yet still effective and luxurious. Similar to the spirit of this blog, the shop came about to solve the issue of the uninformed consumer. Co-founder Valérie Grandury is a breast cancer survivor who completely detoxified her life in order to heal, and now shares her wealth of information via this storefront. Working exclusively with small companies, her team does the homework for you by researching and testing all products before they hit the shelves. From cosmetics to laundry detergent to skin care products (including house brand Odacité), you’re bound to find something of interest. Seeing as this is a California-based company, it is especially nice to see an abundance of local Ontario brands at the Toronto location. Bonus: My favourite local juice bar Greenhouse Juice Co. recently moved in so now you can sip while you shop!
Fave local Toronto-based brand: Province Apothecary small-batch skin care products. Made in Toronto.
What I left the store with: Treat Collection non-toxic nail polish for $19. Berlin-based label. Made in USA.
All photography and content by me. All products from The Detox Shop in Toronto.
