I know, I know. I’m a librarian (Master of Arts degree in Library and Information Science) and nowadays I’m workin’ as a gardener in a gardening and landscaping company 😉

    • I’ve heard the same from people who have taken the program here — popular program but not enough jobs. Landscaping could be a blessing in disguise — sitting all day at a desk is the new smoking after all! I’m also working in a field unrelated to my graduate studies. It’s the plague of our generation. Have you heard of the little free libraries movement?

  2. Bravo! The library is fast becoming extinct as the dodo bird. I spent many , many hours in the university library reading, doing research and keeping cool during many a summer heat wave. The Internet with its instantaneous personality is depriving many young people of the right to explore their library in a way that is personal to them. Thanks for sharing.

  4. Thank you for sharing your thoughts. I remember the excitement of when the bookmobile would come to town. The Little Free Library pop-ups that have appeared in more recent years remind me of this — so there still may be hope…hopefully…fingers crossed…
