Foodie Friday: Organically Cheap & Cheerful

Organic YogurtBuying local doesn’t always mean shelling out more dough. Take for example Pinehedge Farms organic yogurt. Produced in St. Eugene, Ontario by the Heinzie family, this yogurt is cheaper per gram than most (even with it’s $1 deposit for returnable jar). This product hits all the buttons: local, certified organic, made using biodynamic farm methods with on-farm processing, stored in returnable glass containers and tasty! You can’t go wrong buying from a family that’s been practicing biodynamic farming since 1972! Looking forward to also trying their organic kefir and sour cream.

Made in Ontario.

Available at:

  • Whole Foods for $3.99 + $1 deposit (1kg jar)
  • Noah’s Natural Foods for $5.29 (1kg jar)
