It’s no coincidence that Mother’s Day happens to fall in the month of May. This is what gets us out of a jam for those last minute gift ideas — When in doubt, you can always count on May flowers. But where are those fresh-cut blooms going to end up once they leave the florist? Chances are they’ll land in a vase (or pot) made in China. The other day, I was pleasantly surprised while walking by flower-monger row at Avenue and Davenport. I found pots made elsewhere — made in Germany. Not all pots, but some. And I could include my favourite find (pictured above) among them! Bye-bye buyers remorse, hello planting season! Next challenge: how not to kill the plant, for which I so carefully selected the perfect pot.
